About us
The Teacher Leadership Project (TLP) was developed in 1997, and through a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000 has trained over 3500 teachers in Washington and Mississippi in using technology as a tool to enhance instruction.
As part of the Microsoft Partners in Learning Mid-Tier Program, TLP has expanded to train over 250 additional teachers throughout the United States.
The hybrid training model, which incorporates both face-to-face and online learning, offers professional development in curriculum-based, technology integration that:

- Targets state standards
- Moves teachers from focusing on computer skills to focusing on using technology to support learning
- Infuses technology integration into the curriculum based on state learning targets.
- Incorporates the Understanding by Design curriculum framework into the technology training model
- Encourages and supports teacher leaders
